Internet telephony based on the new SIP standard quite differs from the forms of Internet telephony established so far. Thanks to SIP it is possible to make high quality phone calls at a maximum comfort and quality at a fraction of the costs. Compared with conventional telephony, VoIP with sipcall offers a wealth of additional functions.
As a sipcall user you can make phone calls with any VoIP phone that is operated directly from your broadband connection (eg ADSL, cable). A VoIP adapter allows you to still use your normal phone with sipcall.
With your sipcall free/classic user account you will get your own phone number enabling you to be called from any phone. sipcall will answer the incoming calls and reroute them to your Internet VoIP phone.
Regarding the user account sipcall free, features such as personalised phone number, receiving calls from all over the world and calls to other users are completely free of charge. Minor costs incur only for phone calls into the normal telephone network.
With sipcall free / classic you will be available on your personal phone number at any time. Contrary to conventional telephony, your number is not bound to your connection, but to your VoIP phone. No matter where you are in this world – once your sipcall number has been dialled, your phone will ring.
Your VoIP telephone will be connected over the Internet with our Voice servers, enabling them to depict your phone’s current IP address at any time. Incoming calls will be rerouted to your phone.
Hence, you will be reachable worldwide at any time. The incurring rates will constantly stay on the same low level whereas sipcall-to-sipcall calls will be free of charge worldwide! If a sipcall home connection has been installed and you’re – let’s say – at Singapore airport with a WLAN (wireless-LAN) VoIP phone (with a second sipcall connection), this will enable you free Internet calling back home for as long as you like.
Considering conventional telephony, the same phone call with a GSM mobile would cause astronomical costs.
We will provide you with a new telephone number once you set up your own sipcall free/classic user account. This phone number can be called at normal fixed net rates. sipcall free/classic numbers are bound to the telephone. Simply plug in your phone wherever you are in the world and answer calls directed to your number.
Provided that you have an analogue or ISDN telephone connection, a sipcall home user account entitles you to use your consisting fixed net phone number also for VoIP. A sipcall home user account is not bound to your VoIP phone but to your telephone connection at home. The sipcall home user account is very suitable for VoIP through ADSL.
sipcall free/classic is the ideal solution for cable clients wishing to cancel their consisting telephone connection. However, it is not possible to port the consisting number at this point.
What you need in order to place calls with sipcall is an Internet telephone after SIP standard or a SIP adapter. We distinguish between:
VoIP Software Phone: these phones consist of software only and can be installed on your personal computer or notebook. This solution is free of charge and, in conjunction with a headset, allows very comfortable Internet calling. (Example: X-Lite, Eyebeam)
VoIP Adapter Box: the right home solution. The adapter box enables you to still use your regular analogue phone. All you need to do is connect the adapter box with broadband connection and an analogue phone – that’s it! (Example: FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN)
VoIP Phone: the telephone will be directly linked to your broadband connection and will replace your current phone. (Example: Sipura SPA 841)
VoIP end devices can be purchased through one of our shop partners or in specialised retailers.
The software phone X-LITE is free of charge and can be downloaded under the menu “Test” on our homepage. Configuration instructions for various devices can be found under the menu “Installations / Installation guidelines”.
